Ancaster Downtown Community Video
By Angela Nolan / May 16, 2014 / Community and Neighbourhood Videos

Ancaster is part of the Golden Horseshoe area. It is generally an affluent community of professionals that was founded in 1793. The Historic Village core of Ancaster consists of primarily century plus old homes surrounding its modest number of downtown shops, restaurants, churches and services.
Ancaster has a few "claims to fame" and hosting the Canadian Open in 2003, 2006 and 2012 at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club is just one of them. In 2010 Ancaster was the host of the Canadian Little League Championships for baseball. These games were played at the Little League diamonds on Jerseyville Road. Ancaster does a great job every year when it hosts the "World" T-Ball Championships at the Jerseyville Road, Little League park. The Festival of Friends event has recently been moved to the Ancaster Fair Grounds and takes place in August. Also an area favourite is the annual Ancaster Fair held in September.
A great community with a wonderful history.
